As Harman’s VIP Corporate Travel Counselor based at Corporate Headquarters in Stamford, CT, the primary responsibility will be to provide high touch service for Harman’s C-Level executives.
The ideal VIP Corporate Travel Counselor candidate will have prior VIP services experience; strong interpersonal skills and professionalism; sound knowledge of travel operations and industry; effective oral and written communications; and organizational skills that result in high productivity.
This individual must possess experience in arranging complex domestic and international travel and be highly skilled in the Sabre GDS. Strong attention to detail is of utmost importance and the ability to work well under pressure with a strong sense of urgency as well as flexibility to change as needed.
Responsibilities of Harman’s VIP Corporate Travel Counselor include: booking routine and complex domestic and international reservations for air travel, hotel, and car rentals; assist in chartering private aircraft; booking special and unique services; scheduling meet and greet services for airport escort services; managing prompt and accurate responses to telephone and email communication; and maintaining Executive travel profiles and in some cases Executive frequent traveler accounts.
This individual must have the ability to deliver extremely high levels of customer service to very demanding travelers; remain calm under pressure situations; work with vendors to provide special services to demanding clientele; develop strong Executive Assistant and VIP traveler relationships; work independently, exercising discretion and judgment; manage multiple tasks and changing priorities; demonstrate personal and organizational integrity; and research for lower costs and better efficiencies for the Executive team.
Minimum 5+ years of Corporate VIP Travel Counselor experience
Minimum 3+ years of International expertise
Sabre GDS expertise. Strong knowledge of international fare construction and airline routing principles including tax rates
In-depth knowledge of world geography including expedient, cost effective and preferred routing options
Display highest level of integrity at all times
Ability to serve multicultural travelers and handle multiple clients
Ability to handle multiple projects and prioritize tasks
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel) is required.
Experience to predict potential travel disruptions and offer alternatives
Professional written and verbal communication skills
