ABOUT US: Who is CISabroad, and why do you want to work with us?
CISabroad offers transformative study, intern, and short-term programs in 22 countries and customized programs in over 50 countries across the globe. Our mission is to provide education programs that broaden academic perspectives, promote global awareness, and encourage personal development while laying the foundation for participants to become engaged world citizens. We’re proud of our shared values: PASSION, FUN, CULTURAL AWARENESS, BEING HELPFUL, CHANGE & GROWTH, TEAMWORK, & GOOD IDEAS and look for employees who embody them in their personal and professional lives. We are innovative and fast moving, and those with an entrepreneurial spirit are most satisfied. Our home office is located in a historic building smack in the middle of downtown Northampton, MA.
As part of a national university relations team, this position manages university and college relationships in a designated region of the U.S., develops an understanding of programmatic needs, and recruits undergraduate students for CISabroad programs. Reporting to University Relations (UR) Team Leadership, and under direct supervision of a Regional Director (RD), University Relations Managers (URMs) have the primary responsibility of generating interest in programs offered by CISabroad and converting that interest into applications and enrollments. They work collaboratively and cross-departmentally to meet the needs of schools by way of CISabroad programming, including standard programs, internships, faculty-led, and other unique customized programs.
URMs visit universities in their assigned region 8-10 weeks each semester to attend study abroad fairs and other campus events. They meet with study abroad offices, faculty members, career services staff and other administrators, in addition to recruiting and marketing to students. Hours during the recruitment season often require travel and events during the evening and weekends. URMs also collaborate with their RD to strategize on their regional recruitment and relationship building efforts, resolve issues, and work on marketing or other departmental projects.
A successful URM will be positive and energetic and have excellent customer service, communication, and sales skills. In addition to being based remotely, the position requires significant domestic travel and comes with opportunities for international travel, so an independent self-starter and problem-solver will be the most likely to succeed in this role.
