The Senior Staff Accountant will report to the Director of Accounting and will be responsible for recognizing/deferring revenue, assisting with/preparing financial statements, invoicing revenue (accounts receivable), and assisting in accounts payable functions for the association and its subsidiaries. The incumbent in this position will prepare journal entries, bank reconciliations, and account reconciliations. Interactions with ASTA staff, association members, non-members, suppliers and proud partners will occur on a regular basis.
Knowledge of generally accepting accounting principles, strong time management skills, and the ability to multi-task and prioritize work are essential. Attention to detail, problem solving skills, independent judgement, excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong organizational and planning skills are all requirements of the role.
The individual must have a degree in accounting or a related field such as business administration, finance, or public administration that included or was supplemented by 24 semester hours in accounting; must have the ability to work independently as well as coordinate projects from beginning to completion. In addition, the individual must be a team player and very organized. Proficiency in accounting software, Microsoft Dynamics SL preferred, spreadsheet applications, Microsoft Excel preferred. Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint).
This is a professional position with a salary in the $55,000 to $60,000 per year range, depending on the applicant’s skill and experience.
