This hybrid position is a member of both the CISabroad University Relations and Marketing and Communications teams, and as such will report to both the Director of University Relations (DUR) and the Marketing and Communications Director.
As Alumni & Events Coordinator, this person is responsible for supporting the marketing department with a variety of alumni relations duties. The position’s main objective will be to work with the Campus Engagement Coordinators (CEC) to increase CISabroad’s outreach to alumni on college campuses, resulting in higher volumes of leads, applications, and brand awareness. This position will also work with the University Relations team to coordinate various events throughout the year, such as trainings, conferences, and fair coverage. Working together on logistics and strategy, this person will help make sure materials arrive at events, deadlines are met, and that CISabroad is represented positively.
This position is part of a team of experienced professionals at CISabroad who work collaboratively to increase enrollment of CISabroad programs. This position is a good fit for independent, detail oriented, self-motivated, creative, critical thinking, and energetic young professionals or recent graduates interested in the field of international education.
--Alumni Communications, Training, and Engagement
Manage Alumni Ambassador program in collaboration with CECs, including overseeing an annual budget for rewards and swag, tracking engagement activities and compensation, and developing training programming and content
Streamline and execute Alumni Ambassador nomination, recruitment, and onboarding process, including recruiting alumni from key partner universities
Manage and implement communication plan with alumni and Alumni Ambassadors: weekly emails, regular newsletters, promotions
Work with Global Advising Center to strategically engage alumni and ambassadors to call/text leads, host alumni ambassador advising sessions
Develop reporting and evaluation system for alumni programming to help the CEC’s keep track of their alumni and determine if program goals are being met
Coordinate event and conference planning, including NAFSA and FORUM annual conferences, Advisory Board and Advisor Days, and other Overseas Partners and Site Director visits to key institutions and CISabroad headquarters
Assist the DUR in planning, logistics, and executing the three trainings a year in April, August, and December
Plan logistics and schedules for interviewees that come to Northampton as well as new hires
Work with CECs and University Relations Representative to maximize use of alumni ambassadors within region, including development and implementation of university specific student outreach plans
As needed, represent CISabroad at study abroad fairs and other campus events during peak recruitment season
Attend and fully participate in team-wide trainings (April, August, December)
Access to company-wide professional development events and other internal events like Ally Training, safety and risk management, etc.
Potentially represent CISabroad at a combination of state and regional conferences or re-entry events
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving history
International study/intern/volunteer/work/or travel experience
Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as be a team player
Organized and very detail oriented
Self-motivated and self-starter who enjoys getting the job done
Flexible and adaptable to changing or uncertain situations (i.e. travel delays)
Energetic, enthusiastic, self-motivated individual who can inspire anyone to go abroad
Aptitude to thrive without a routine or daily supervision
Effective written communication and public speaking skills
Skilled at multitasking in a fast-paced environment
Team player with a rockin’ sense of humor
Functional knowledge of Google Suite, Skype, MS Word/PowerPoint/Excel
Bachelor’s degree in sales, marketing, PR, communications, or a related field
Sales, marketing, or outreach experience
Event planning experience
Experience managing an alumni program
Experience working or volunteering in study abroad office or promoting your study abroad program as an alumni
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Some air and/or ground travel as needed for conference set up and attendance and fair coverage
Hours during the recruitment season, trainings, and conferences fall outside of the typical 9-5 and often spill into the evenings and weekends
Ability to lift or maneuver up to 50 pounds, stand for long periods of time, walk long distances, climb stairs, bend, and squat
Stamina to sit on planes/in cars for long periods of time, especially due to unforeseen flight delays or traffic
