Orpheus is seeking a freelance Tour Manager to advance and execute its Winter/Spring 2023 orchestral concerts and tours, with the potential for ongoing work in future seasons.

Duties include:

• Serve as primary contact to concert presenters and venues regarding advance and execution of logistical arrangements and contract rider requirements.
• Arrange tour travel, including flights (through travel agent), buses/trains, as well as hotel accommodations and catering. Serve as primary contact to vendors.
• Manage instrument rental and transportation to/from venues, hotels, airports, etc.
• Coordinate logistical arrangements for guest soloists in conjunction with artist managers and Director of Artistic Planning.
• Coordinate with education staff regarding residency activities on tour to arrange logistics and be present for activities as needed.
• Create stage plots and adjust as needed during rehearsal period. Communicate all stage needs to venue and presenter contacts in advance and at Audio/Visual Adjustment (AVA) and concert.
• Act as liaison between technical crews and the orchestra, keeping abreast of all production elements. Serve as stage manager as required based on venue capabilities.
• Manage orchestra library on tour. Be responsible for transporting music and placement on stage prior to each rehearsal and concert.
• Communicate closely with other staff regarding updates and issues related to production, travel, personnel, and presenters.
• Create and distribute itineraries to musicians and communicate changes in a timely manner. Update ArtsVision database with changes to tour information.
• Maintain an understanding of Collective Bargaining Agreement tour rules and plan travel and logistics accordingly.
• Maintain a working knowledge of tour budgets and communicate possible changes, overtime, etc. to General Manager promptly.
• Submit invoices and receipts in a timely manner. Expenses outside of budget must be pre-approved by General Manager. Provide information for tour and concert financial reconciliations as requested.
• Manage and assist with other tasks that can be reasonably expected of a Tour Manager.
• Maintain a valid passport

This is a freelance position paying $500/tour day including advance work. Current tour/concert dates for 2023 winter/spring season: Feb 21-Mar 2, Apr 14, May 4, May 20. Additional dates may be offered throughout the season. Will consider candidates not available for all dates.
